SMALL JEWELRY BOX

This is a jewelry box featuring  "hand-cut" dovetails accented by the use of the two contrasting species of wood (spalted hard maple and black walnut).

TABLE

This was a commissioned harvest style table. It showcases what I aim to display the most

in all my pieces; the natural beauty of wood. It is made of air dried butternut (a.k.a white walnut).

It features a hand-planed top, tapered legs and pegged tenons.

KRENOV INSPIRED CABINET

This was a piece that I designed while studying at RTC. The project was to create a piece that followed the style of one of the most influential cabinet makers of all time, James Krenov. It was my first attempt at using live edge (wood with it's natural edge) lumber. I find it brings life and a natural flow to my work. I now use this characteristic for a lot of my pieces. It features many hand crafted components that are often lacking in today's furniture.The dovetailed drawers, knobs and handles where all made using traditional hand tools.
It showcases that "rustic" can also be refined.
This was one of the most labour intensive pieces to date but also one of the most rewarding.

TEA BOX

Tea box made of maple with black walnut splines.  The finish is linseed oil.  I use alot of oil finishes because it enhances the wood grain.
