For this commissioned piece I used book matched sugar maple slabs with live edge for the table top and bench seats.
The top is two matching slabs joined and reinforced with rosewood butterfly keys
which are similar to dovetails adding both strength and a design aspect to the piece.
The legs of the table and benches are made of cherry and the center and inlay are torrified maple.
